About

Erin is a seasoned Physician Assistant who over the past 15 years since graduating from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA, has gained extensive experience in both mental health care and emergency medicine and primary care, with a particular emphasis on root cause / functional medicine. In 2019 she also earned a certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in Psychiatric medicine through the national certifying body for Physician Assistants, the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Driven by an interest in identifying and addressing the underlying causes of medical and mental health conditions, in 2020 Erin pursued a certification in functional medicine from the Institute of Functional Medicine and more recently she also joined a fellowship specific to the practice of functional medicine in mental health. She is dedicated to integrating these principles into her mental health practice to foster a more holistic and effective approach to patient care.

Over her 8.5 years of experience in mental health care, she had had the benefit and honor of treating a diverse patient population with a wide range of mental health diagnoses including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, substance use disorders, and more. Erin particularly excels working with patients who have intractable depression and those who have been diagnosed with a neurodivergent condition – or who identify as such. She sees patients age 18 and older and is currently accepting new patients. In addition to her clinical work, Erin has a background in music (violin) and philosophy, which were both undergraduate studies and disciplines that continue to inspire her. Her past experience also includes living in Mexico for some time, where she developed proficiency in Spanish language communication, enriching her ability to connect with a diverse range of patients and people in general.

Erin is channeling her passion and experience into her role as the founder of Opus Now PLLC and is committed to advancing a whole-person, individualized approach to mental health care, and by extension general wellness care. She welcomes connections with professionals and organizations interested in discussing innovative approaches to medicine (including functional medicine) as well as patients interested in getting to the root of their mental health concerns.
